WHAT IS BCAA 1000?
It is a product whose main component is branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. BCAAs are 3 essential amino acids of the protein that cannot be synthesized by the body, so it is necessary to introduce them through food / supplementation. They make up between 15 and 20% of muscle amino acids. In this case, the ratio between the 3 amino acids is 2.1.1, similar to the proportion that we can find in our body.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
The main use of BCAAs is related to muscle, that is, to promote the development of muscle mass and prevent tissue degradation. Branched-chain amino acids, especially leucine, activate the mTor pathway, a large protein responsible for hypertrophic growth, protein synthesis and tissue morphogenesis. On the other hand, when the level of muscle glycogen is low, the body is able to resort to other energy pathways, among which is the use of muscle amino acids (BCAAs among others) as an energy source; Ingesting them before physical activity will ensure the preservation of muscle tissue (this aspect is especially important in low-carbohydrate diets).
In addition to the aforementioned functions, BCAAs also have the following benefits:
- They favor the repair of muscle tissue.
- Reduce tryptophan levels in the brain, thereby inhibiting fatigue during training.
- Increase insulin sensitivity.
- They can be used as a source of direct energy by the body.
- They are able to partially replenish muscle glycogen levels.
