Yamamoto®, Research , GLR®, is, formulated in fast-dissolving sublingual tablets, where Setria® glutathione will be rapidly absorbed by the sublingual tributary venous circulation of the superior vena cava, avoiding the intestinal activity of gamma-glutamyltransferase (since absorption occurs at the oral level) and also avoiding enterocytic metabolic activity and bypassing the liver filter, preventing first-pass hepatic metabolism that greatly deactivates the molecule, remembering that hepatocytes are especially abundant.

Glutathione is the body's first line of defense against oxidative stress and the multiple xenobiotics to which our body is continuously exposed (toxins, drugs, heavy metals, pesticides and others) that attack our cells and enzymes.

This accumulation of oxidative damage favors the aging of the organism, as well as a greater predisposition to diseases, degradation of physiological functions, which become less efficient and are more exposed to 'external attacks'.

In fact, there is a direct correlation between aging and reduced intracellular glutathione concentration, as well as a strong correlation between increased concentrations and higher survival rates. Supported by a great deal of scientific research, it has been shown that optimal levels of glutathione are indispensable to support the functionality of the immune system, to protect and detoxify the liver and kidneys, and to eliminate the risk of chronic disease and promote longevity.

It is called 'master antioxidant', since it is able to 'recycle', other antioxidants such as vitamin C and E, alpha-lipoic acid and coenzyme Q10, and when glutathione levels increase, so do those of the other antioxidants. Its oral intake has always been a controversial issue and has been left aside, since the human intestine contains significant amounts of the enzyme gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase that degrades much of the glutathione that is ingested, so ingesting even high amounts of glutathione or other precursors did not give significant results that could be compared with those obtained through the injectable route.

GLR® is a new generation reduced glutathione supplement that combines two particular strategies that have improved the absorption and bioavailability of this precious antioxidant, relaunching its oral version again with greater effectiveness. GLR®, it is, formulated in sublingual tablets containing Setria (reduced glutathione), a formula patented by the Japanese multinational company Kyowa Hakko. A major study published in the European Journal of Nutrition has revealed that daily supplementation of Setria® glutathione increases glutathione stores by 30-35% in 6 months.
